Respect Campaign
Granville District Football Referees Association and Granville District Soccer Football Association are responding to the growing concern from all levels of football to tackle the unacceptable behaviour in today's game.
Respect is a continuous campaign aimed at creating an enjoyable playing environment that allows people to play, officiate and watch football without being abused, mocked, insulted, jeered, physically assaulted and unnecessarily criticised.
GDSRA has also created a presentation for all participants in the game regarding Respect. This can be downloaded by clicking on the following link: GDFRA and GDSFA Respect Campaign
On average, 7,000 referees quit football every year in the UK because of the abuse they receive from players and from the sidelines. Lots of children also pack it in because of the attitude and actions of over-enthusiastic and pushy parents.
Respect is a program that was initially launched by The FA in England at the commencement of the 2008-09 season, and has been adapted by GDFRA and GDSFA for our local needs. Below are two videos that have been developed by The FA in order to illustrate Respect to the general public.
